Design agency Barker Gray approached Watermark Creative to help develop a range of limited edition collectible Moccona jars that would enhance its position as a premium instant coffee brand. Samuel’s strong focus on pattern made him an obvious choice as illustrator.
While the illustration theme was to be based on classic European architecture, the brief also called for more subtle food and coffee references.
Moccona used the jars in a Facebook promotion competition, inviting people to explain why a friend deserved to win the set of three.
The reaction was enthusiastic, to say the least...
