100% Pure Gold For Artesian Water Design
The brief to design agency Marx Design, was to dream up branding for a restaurant-only range of bottled water for the Chinese and New Zealand markets. The result was a resounding success, winning the client a 'Designers Institute of New Zealand, Gold award in Packaging'.
It was no simple task as the Artesian Waters range had to appeal to clients in two such different markets. "Creating a visual language that would appeal to these two diverse audiences was critical to success,” the Auckland-based Marx says.
Trevor’s illustrations of glaciers and lakes could have come straight off an old New Zealand stamp, illustrating “the purity of Pre-European New Zealand,” says Marx Design. Gold foil typography reinforces the brand’s 'premium opulence'.
Just the tipple for a fine dining experience then. Or as the judges put it: “Really daring. They have reinterpreted purity and made it look premium”.
