Peters Drumstick Icecreams
’Celebrating 50 Summers’ was the slogan for the new Peters Drumstick Campaign. That meant going all the way back to 1964, so it was no surprise that the brief called for a retro look. The client also wanted a fun feel, and choose Anton after seeing his humorous illustrations for InVision Interactive TV service in Sudi Arabia (you can check out that campaign here).
The brief called for four scenes portraying stereotypical Australian summer activities over the past 50 years - the beach, a pool, a backyard BBQ and a drive-in movie. Objects in the illustrations were to be on separate layers giving the client freedom to arrange them as they saw fit.
The illustrations also had to be large so they could be used on POS and billboards, as well as the product packs. This presented some challenges for New Zealand based Anton, who was working on the project on his laptop while holidaying in Australia.
‘It helped to be working with a great client and dealing with Julia McCartney who made the process very smooth and enjoyable,’ he says.
